As time went on
We left the establishment
I held the door
She looked at me
but didn't say anymore.
Silence
I asked the questions
the generic and bland
when it came time to depart
I didn't even extend my hand.
"I'll see you around."
But I really won't
I wish I could say I'd want to
but I really don't.

DayBreak
Daybreak
The white lake.
Sandy beaches, a cool breeze,
and everything is the same throughout--
--except for the houses,
they're shades of pastel blue,
green, white and grey, just not brown or black.
So mediocre!
They named the place Oqurrih.
The drama is here though.
Behind the smiles of walking
couples. The mothers pushing
strollers, and the joggers with
ear buds.
They're trapped in this world;
forced to maintain an image,
conform and keep up.
What secrets do they hide,
One wonders?
