Water is my element,
You know, rain, river tide?
People need it for life,
It’s the fiercest of strife.
They complain when it’s there;
They complain when it’s not there.
They rejoice at its coming;
They love to play on its ripples.
Water goes on a straight course,
Isn’t held back for long,
So determined, resolute,
So powerful and strong.
I wonder if the moon knows the power she holds,
To pull me towards her
And to push me away?
I wonder if she knows that I’m thinking of her,
Or if she cares that I’m trapped in her magnetic field.
Oh, if only she knew, what would I do!?
But she’ll never make it
She’s too caught up in her own little world.
The same thing that ties me to this mass of rock,
Holds her at a distance, we’ll never touch.
But it doesn’t hurt to dream, does it?
I guess in the meantime I’ll just keep being pulled
And pushed away from it all.
And one day I’ll marry the maiden of the shore
Who waited for her love to return from the coast
But he never came,
He was narcissus and fell in the pool
Where he drowned—I’m sure you heard.
He wasn’t that great anyway,
Just a story, a fable, a myth
One that I will never forget.
Water is my element, you know?
I’m sure you can figure out the rest
You need a like button for things such as this.
